Cool Trips Travel Essentials

Rob Driving Thru New ZealandEveryone, we meet on our travels, has special items they wouldn’t leave home without. Stuff and kit that is a travel essential; an absolutely must have with you, before you set off.

We have a few items we consider Cool Trips Travel Essentials and top of the list is our North Face hooded fleeces. Quick on and quick off for cool days and cold nights.

Next is our Samsung Netbook, sturdy, rugged and lightweight, it makes sure we get online whenever and wherever the internet is available. Helps make sure we keep friends and family aware of where we are and what we’re doing.

Rucksacks …
You absolutely must have the best quality rucksack you can afford. We each use a 95kg with a detachable day-sac, so we can leave the bulk in the room, tent, etc and use the day-sack to carry important stuff while we’re out and about.

Best if the rucksack has a lock or get the lockable pacsafe wire bag to put your rucksack in when it’s out of sight or away from you.

Flip-flops …
Because, although everyone recommends a good sturdy pair of boots, in hot countries there’s nothing better when you’re kicking about camp or traveling in the back of a truck or bus. We prefer Reef Flip Flops as they seem to last and are reasonably hardwearing and comfortable.

Of course, you only really build up your own travel essentials by learning what you need and what YOU can’t do without while traveling. Personal preference is what makes you choose what you’re comfortable with.
